Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim is ready to travel with the team for the World Cup 2019, which starts in England from May 30.
There is speculation about Imam's old knee injury. It is
believed that the 30-year-old has not passed the fitness test that 22 probable
tests took place on Monday, but he will go through the test before the World
Cup, because officials of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) are assuming that he
will clear it, Told ESPNcininfo.
ESPNcricinfo understands that the scan shows that Imam's
knee problem does not interrupt his ability with bat or ball, and medical staff
believes that the problem will be clear until the World Cup begins at the end
of May. The coaching staff has been affected by the morality of their work in
the past three weeks, and that - apart from his low current capacity - has
earned him some time in passing his fitness exam. It was initially discussed
that he will undergo an examination before 18 April - when chief selector
Inzamam-ul-Haq announced the World Cup team - but the current situation of his
injury means that the possibility of passing such a test is remote.
Coaching staff are also happy with the advance fitness of
several core players in the Pakistan team, many of whom have been half-a-dozen
ahead of their past. Young players and those who were not previously part of
the Pakistan set-up, they are understood that they are less than marks which
have been set in non-negotiable but it is believed that they are progressing
fast , 18-year-old Mohammed Hasanman, directed especially with praise.
Abid Ali and Hasnain did not grade in the test on Monday,
but since they are new to the set-up, ESPNcricinfo understands that they will
be given more time to reach the required benchmark. Officials confirmed that
passing the test before the World Cup was still an unspecified and they were
confident that all the players selected on Thursday would pass the test on time
for the Pakistan World Cup campaign.
Despite some players still needing to pass, there is a
remarkable positiveity for the environment after fitness tests, and it is a
perception that 22 players have exceeded the expectations. A source told
ESPNcricinfo that it was Pakistan's "strongest, strongest arm so
far". It is believed that Inzamam and chief coach Mickey Arthur have
finalized 15 names for the World Cup, and the additional two who will be part
of the 17-man squad for the ODI series against England.
The team will be announced by Inzamam on Thursday evening, with
the team set to depart for England on Monday April 22.
